Auditions
Audition Videos are due on June 15 at 11:59 PM.
The Maryland Symphony Youth Orchestra is an auditioned program that runs from approximately September to June each year. MSYO participants are typically high school students who have a passion for Orchestral music and have several years of playing experience. Participation in private lessons is encouraged but not required. Exceptional younger musicians will be considered at the discretion of the MSYO conductor and are welcome to audition. This program is not intended for those over the age of 19.
When submitting your audition form you will be prompted to pay a non-refundable $50 audition fee. If this fee presents a financial burden to you or your family, please contact Education@marylandsymphony.org.

Financials
When applying each student will be prompted to make a $50 application fee and upon acceptance into the program a $100 deposit is required from each applicant to secure their spot for the following year.
Both fees will be subtracted from the overall tuition balance, and to celebrate the inaugural year, all students will be receiving a $100 discount to their total tuition fee. This brings the remaining tuition balance of $550.
Scholarships
The Maryland Symphony Orchestra strongly believes that a young musician’s ability to participate should not be affected by circumstances outside their control. We prioritize providing a variety of payment plan options as well as partial and full need-based scholarships to students. Please reach out to the education department for more information on Scholarships and payment plans.
