Maryland Symphony Orchestra Welcomes Emily Socks as Director of Development

The Maryland Symphony Orchestra has announced that Emily C. Socks has rejoined its administrative staff as Director of Development. Since 2018, Socks served as a Major Gift Officer for Adventist HealthCare in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She previously served as Director of Advancement for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra from 2016 to 2018.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – May 12, 2020 – The Maryland Symphony Orchestra, after reviewing the recently released Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery and consulting with the National Park Service and local government and health officials, has determined that the 35th annual Salute to Independence scheduled for this July 4th at Antietam Battlefield cannot be held.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – April 3, 2020 – Due to an extension of the Public Health Order in the State of Maryland prohibiting gatherings of 10 or more persons to slow the spread of COVID-19, there will be no additional Maryland Symphony Orchestra concerts at The Maryland Theatre through June 30.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – March 13, 2020 – The Maryland Symphony Orchestra will postpone the “Mozart + Mahler” concerts originally scheduled for March 14 and 15 at the Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown. This is due to the announcement yesterday by Governor Larry Hogan that Maryland is under an elevated state of emergency. As such, he has ordered that all gatherings of more than 250 people must be canceled or postponed until such time as the state of emergency is lifted.
