🎤 Artist Spotlight: Richard Troxell, Tenor

The Maryland Symphony Orchestra is delighted to feature internationally acclaimed tenor Richard Troxell @tenordad for our performances of Beethoven’s Ninth. Known for his magnetic stage presence and richly expressive voice, Richard has performed leading roles in Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, and beyond. He made his film debut as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (directed by Frédéric Mitterrand) and continues to shine in both opera and concert repertoire. (richardtroxell.com)

Another incredible afternoon of music! 🎶 Our MSO String Quartet gave an encore performance of “Bach to the Beatles” today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown—and what a wonderful audience! Thank you to everyone who joined us for this joyful celebration of classical favorites and timeless pop hits.

We’re especially grateful to the warm and welcoming community at Trinity, and to the volunteers who helped make today’s event possible.

We’re thrilled to welcome bass-baritone @cedricberryofficial to the stage for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on May 31 and June 1 at @themarylandtheatre. Cedric’s powerful voice has resonated with audiences from the Los Angeles Opera to the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland. Noted for his “robust and resonant voice” (LA Times), Cedric's recent roles include Méphistophélès in Faust, Crown in Porgy and Bess, and Joe in Show Boat. (cedricberry.com)

• Section Horn – Deadline: Tuesday, May 13
• Principal Percussion – Deadline: Wednesday, May 14

Auditions will take place in June 2025, and qualified candidates can apply and submit materials online at auditions.marylandsymphony.org. Don’t miss your chance to join the MSO!
