Cellist Jessica Albrecht is an active performer based in Maryland, currently serving as Assistant Principal Cellist of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra since 2022. In recent years, she has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. She has performed with distinguished artists including Benjamin Grosvenor, Midori, and Leonidas Kavakos at the Kennedy Center, and has appeared with ensembles across the United States. Previous orchestral positions include Assistant Principal Cello in the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and section positions with the Fort Collins and Cheyenne Symphony Orchestras.
Her performances span classical, contemporary, and popular genres, with appearances alongside Lynn Harrell, Michael Bublé, Father John Misty, and KYGO. Jessica has been featured on recordings with Naxos, Arts Laureate, and Merrow Records, and has performed at venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater, Pepsi Center, and WNYC Studios.
Jessica is a dedicated and versatile cello instructor committed to fostering a love of music in students of all ages and backgrounds. She has maintained a private cello studio since 2010, offering individualized instruction and organizing student recitals that highlight both personal growth and ensemble collaboration.
Jessica holds a Master of Music in Cello Performance from the Peabody Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Maryland.
