Cellist Alyssa Moquin, a string educator in Washington County Public Schools, is a member of the Maryland Symphony, Manassas Ballet Theatre Orchestra, Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra and Shippensburg Festival Orchestra. She has been active as a performer and educator throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Most notably, Alyssa has served ten years plus as a cellist in the Maryland Symphony, and twenty-five years as a member of the Richmond Symphony. She has taught classical and popular music history courses at the University of Maryland, and cello and strings at DeMatha Catholic High School, Concordia Lutheran School, Arlington Public Schools and Virginia Commonwealth University. She holds music degrees from the University of Maryland and San Francisco Conservatory of Music, with studies in music performance, journalism and musicology. Alyssa is a member of the American String Teachers Association.
