How can I learn more about the music to be performed at the concert?

Program notes for each work on the program are provided in BRAVO Magazine, the official program book of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.

What is the dress code for attending the symphony?

There is no dress code for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. While some audience members do choose to dress up for concerts, please dress in a way that is comfortable for you. In consideration of those seated near you, please use fragrances sparingly.

What happens if I arrive late?

If you arrive after the concert has begun, you will be asked to wait in the back of the Theatre until ushers can seat you during an appropriate break in the program.

Is photography or recording of the concert permitted?

Photography, videotaping, and sound recording are prohibited at all times.

Can I bring food and drinks into the theatre?

You are welcome to bring any food and/or drinks purchased at concessions into the auditorium. However, we do ask that you avoid opening prepackaged food items during those quiet moments in the music. Wrappers can be quite noisy!

Who needs to buy a ticket?

Regardless of age, each person must have a ticket and be able to sit attentively in a seat throughout the performance. Lap seating is not permitted for Maryland Symphony Orchestra performances. Classical concerts are not recommended for children under the age of five years.
