Maryland Symphony Orchestra presents “Home for the Holidays” at New Maryland Theatre Performing Arts Center

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – December 10, 2019 – Music Director Elizabeth Schulze and The Maryland Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the holiday season in the quad-state region with the annual “Home for the Holidays” concerts on Saturday December 21 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Maryland Theatre Performing Arts Center. Tickets range from $19 - $79 and are available at marylandsymphony.org or by calling 301-797-4000.

For nearly two decades, the MSO’s Home for the Holidays concerts have become the area’s favorite holiday tradition with families and friends gathering to listen to the magical sounds of Christmas that are sure to fill hearts and souls with goodwill throughout the rest of the Season.

This year’s special guests and soloists include vocalist Christine Lyons, Concertmaster Robert Martin, the First Christian Church Children’s Choir, Tegan Chalker and Benjamin Pierce from Hagerstown City Ballet, and Santa Claus who will lead audience members in the popular yuletide sing-along! Musical highlights include Vivaldi’s “Winter,” “Away in a Manger,” Fantasia on “Greensleeves,” “Somewhere in My Memory” from Home Alone, selections from the Nutcracker Suite featuring Hagerstown City Ballet dancers, “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and “Sleigh Ride.”

The 2019/2020 concert season is presented through the generous support of Antietam Broadband. “Home for Holidays” is sponsored by Younger Auto Group. The MSO is also supported by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive.
