SUMMARY:Beethoven: Mastery in Motion
DESCRIPTION:THE MARYLAND THEATRE \nSaturday\, March 13\, 2027 | 7:30 PM Sunday\, March 14\, 2027 | 3:00 PM Elizabeth Schulze Conductor Maxim Lando Piano  \nLudwig van Beethoven | Overture to Coriolanus\, op. 62Ludwig van Beethoven | Symphony No. 1 in C Major\, op. 21Ludwig van Beethoven | Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major\, op. 73 \n  \nBeethoven: Mastery in Motion traces the creative force of a composer whose music reshaped the symphonic tradition. Fiercely independent and unmistakably original\, Beethoven wrote with clarity\, conviction\, and dramatic power that continues to resonate today. \nThe program opens with the intense Coriolanus Overture\, followed by Symphony No. 1\, a work that reveals the bold voice of a young composer pushing the boundaries of classical form. The evening concludes with the monumental Piano Concerto No. 5\, often called the “Emperor\,” performed by pianist Maxim Lando. \nConfident\, expansive\, and thrilling in scale\, the concerto brings the program to a powerful close. \n  \nConcert SponsorStephen & Linda Hood
