MSO Announces Schedule for New Season of Little Maestros
Classes
Hagerstown, MD—The Maryland Symphony Orchestra (MSO)
has announced the schedule for the second season of its popular
Little Maestros program.
Little Maestros is a program that is held in conjunction
with the Kinder Konzert series, currently presented by the
MSO and the Washington County Board of Education. This
program is for pre-school children between the ages of two
and five. Classes—which includes exploration, movement,
singing and listening to music—are taught by a certified
teacher with pre-school and public school experience.
There are five, six-week sessions running from September
15, 2009 to May 27, 1010. Classes will be held at Paramount
Elementary on Tuesday mornings, Eastern Elementary on Wednesday
mornings and Barbara Ingram School for the Arts on Thursday
evenings. Each session will cost $45 per student.
The specific sessions are Woodwind, meeting from September
15 to October 22; Jazz, meeting from November 3 to December
17 (no classes will be held the week of November 23); Woodwinds,
meeting from January 5 to February 11; Brass, meeting from
February 23 to April 8; and, String/Orchestra, meeting from
April 20 to May 27.
Classes for children ages 2-3 (along with parents) are available
on Tuesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and Thursday
evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Classes for children
ages 4-5 have the option of meeting on Tuesday mornings 10:00
a.m. to 10:45 a.m. or Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to
7:15 p.m. Family classes for children ages 2 to 5
will be held on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45
a.m.
