The Maryland Symphony Orchestra Names Director
of Marketing and Public Relations
Hagerstown, MD—The Maryland Symphony
Orchestra (MSO) has announced that Gregory R. Evans has joined
the MSO administrative staff as Director of Marketing and
Public Relations. Evans brings to the MSO over 30 years of
public relations, marketing and development experience gained
while working for such non-profit and educational organizations
as The Catholic University of America, Pennsylvania Guild
of Craftsmen, the Washington Center for Internships and Academic
Seminars, Horizon Goodwill Industries, Inc., and Antietam
Healthcare Foundation.
He has served as a member of the board of directors of the
Hyndman Area Health Center, Apollo Civic Theatre, W House,
Potomac Classical Youth Ballet Company and currently serves
on the board of the Authentic Community Theatre/Summer Institute
for the Arts in Hagerstown. Evans has also been active with
the United Way of Washington County, Washington County Business
Awards Task Force and the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber
of Commerce.
A native of Hyndman, PA, Evans earned a Bachelor of Arts degree
in speech communications from Shepherd University and resides
in Mercersburg, PA.
The MSO is the area’s premier professional orchestra,
dedicated to providing musical performances that educate and
entertain, while enhancing the cultural environment of Western
Maryland and the surrounding region. The MSO is supported by
a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC), an agency
dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where
the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business and
Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and
technical assistance to non-profit organizations, units of
government, colleges and universities for arts activities. |
