MSO Board Hosts Antietam Sparkle Progressive Dinner On July
1, 2005
HAGERSTOWN, MD - - - Red, white and blue
will be the “in” colors for the night when The Maryland
Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors hosts the 11th annual Antietam
Sparkle progressive dinner on Friday, July 1, 2005. An evening of
food and sparkling conversation, this highly-anticipated event raises
money and enhances enthusiasm for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra’s
annual Salute to Independence, a free concert held each year at Antietam
National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland. The Antietam Sparkle
dinner kicks off the concert weekend, with the Salute to Independence
concert set to entertain 35,000 plus attendees on Saturday, July 2.
Antietam Sparkle begins with cocktails and drinks with the host,
St. James School and the Rev. Dr. D. Stuart Dunnan, Headmaster. The
guests then pick up their envelopes to see at whose home they will
be dining that evening. The dinners, featuring wonderful menus sure
to please even the most discriminating palates, are hosted at the
homes of MSO Board or Guild members. The evening ends at the Women’s
Club, with a variety of desserts from local establishments. The event
also includes a raffle, and lucky winners receive VIP parking spaces
at the Antietam Battlefield for the Salute to Independence, flowers,
Augustoberfest tickets, dinner for two at the Schmankerl Stube and
more. This is a perfect way to prepare for the concert at the Battlefield
while supporting the MSO. Antietam Sparkle helps raise the funds necessary
to present the Salute to Independence concert, including world-class
fireworks by Zambelli International.
Tickets for Antietam Sparkle are $55.00 per person and limited space
is available. Please call the MSO office at 301-797-4000 for more
information.
