Maryland Symphony Orchestra Announces Auditions
HAGERSTOWN, MD - - - The Maryland Symphony
Orchestra and Music Director Elizabeth Schulze announce auditions
for the following immediate vacancies: Associate Principal Second
Violin, Fourth Chair Second Violin, and Assistant Principal Cello
(44 services each,) and Section First Violin, Section Second Violin,
and Section Cello (18 services each.) Auditions will be held on April
29, 2006, at Grace United Church of Christ, 25 East 2nd Street, Frederick
MD 21701.
Candidates must prepare excerpts from the repertoire found at www.marylandsymphony.org
as well as a solo/concerto of their choice. Candidates must not be
subject to any visa or immigration status that would prevent lawful
employment, and must bring 2 valid forms of ID to the audition.
Qualified candidates should send a one-page resume and $50.00 deposit
by April 15 to The Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Audition Manager,
13 S Potomac Street, Hagerstown MD, 21740. The audition fee will be
refunded when the audition is taken as scheduled, or if the candidate
cancels within 48 hours of the scheduled audition. No one will be
scheduled for an audition without a deposit.
Upon receipt of resume and deposit, a packet will be mailed to each
candidate with an application form, time slot, and copies of the required

Winds/Brass auditions will be held on June 1, 2006 at a location
still to be determined. Further information will be placed on the
MSO website as it becomes available.

Symphony Orchestra is the area’s premiere professional orchestra,
dedicated to providing musical performances and programs that educate
and entertain while enhancing the cultural environment of Western
