Pianist Thomas Pandolfi to Perform With
Maryland Symphony Orchestra
Hagerstown, MD—Pianist Thomas Pandolfi will be the
guest artist when the Maryland Symphony Orchestra continues
its Masterworks Series on Saturday, March 20 at 8:00 p.m.
and Sunday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m. at the historic Maryland
Theatre in downtown Hagerstown.
Pandolfi will play Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in
E minor. The MSO, under the leadership of Music Director
Elizabeth Schulze, will also perform Chabrier’s Fete
Polonaise (from the comic opera Le Roi malgre lui) and Tchaikovsky’s
Symphony No. 3 in D Major (Polish).
Pandolfi is emerging as a prodigious virtuoso who excels
in reviving the core repertoire from the golden age of pianism. He
has performed extensively throughout Europe and with symphony
orchestras in Mississippi, Cedar Rapids, Asheville, Princeton,
San Angelo, York, Fairfax and Owensboro. Audiences
have enjoyed his artistry through recitals and solo concerts
in California, Oregon, New York, Washington, Virginia, Florida,
Texas, New Hampshire, Illinois, Missouri, South Carolina,
Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. During
the 2009-2010 Season he will give the world premiere of British
composer Simon Proctor’s “James Bond” Piano
Concerto in London. He will also perform this work
with Symphonicity in the USA, along with the Warsaw Concerto
and make guest appearances with The Great Falls Symphony,
The Allegro Chamber Orchestra and The George Enescu Philharmonic
in Bucharest. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Pandolfi
earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees
as a scholarship student.
All ticket holders are welcome to attend Prelude which takes
place one hour before each concert. Music Director
Elizabeth Schulze and the guest artist will share information
on feature composers and works that will enhance concert-goers
enjoyment and appreciation of the concert.

by calling 301-797-4000. Student Rush tickets (no reservations
accepted) are also available at the box office beginning
90 minutes before each performance for $5.000. Seat
selection will be at the discretion of box office personnel.
