Youth Concerts

Made possible by the generous support of Citicorp, Youth Concerts are held each May at the Maryland Theatre. Public, private and home-schooled fourth graders from across the quad-state region are treated to a free performance designed especially for them, highlighted by remarks from Elizabeth Schulze, MSO Music Director.

The Maryland Symphony Orchestra Guild distributes lesson plans and student guides to fourth grade teachers, for use in preparing students for the concert by familiarizing them with the music to be played, the composers, the instruments of the orchestra and even concert etiquette.
